Green Ledger is a platform used by independent landscaping businesses (“Service Providers”) to manage customers, scheduling, and billing. With your consent, your Service Provider may send you service-related text messages (SMS) through Green Ledger. This page explains exactly what those messages are, how consent is collected, and how to stop them at any time.
1. What Messages We Send
All messages are transactional and service-related. They include:
- Appointment and service-visit reminders
- Scheduling updates (crew on the way, visit rescheduled, job completed)
- Invoice and payment notices
- Account security codes (login verification), where enabled
We do not send marketing or promotional text messages, and mobile numbers are never shared with, sold, or rented to third parties for marketing purposes.
2. How You Opt In
Consent to receive text messages is collected in one of two ways:
a) Online — account activation or account settings. When you create or activate your customer portal account, you are shown an optional checkbox that is unchecked by default. Checking it is never required to receive service. The checkbox is accompanied by the following disclosure:
Exact consent control shown on our account activation form
Text me service updates (optional)
By checking this box, you agree to receive service-related text messages (appointment reminders, scheduling updates, and invoice notices) from your landscaping service provider via Green Ledger at the phone number provided. Consent is not a condition of service. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Mobile numbers are never shared with third parties for marketing.
b) Verbally or in writing, directly with your Service Provider. Some customers sign up for lawn care in person or over the phone. In that case the Service Provider asks whether you would like to receive text updates, informs you that message frequency varies, that message and data rates may apply, and that you can reply STOP to opt out at any time. Your consent is then recorded in your customer record with a timestamp, and the staff member who recorded it is logged for auditing.
c) From your customer portal settings. Customers with an active portal account can turn text updates on or off at any time under Settings → Text Messages. The same disclosure language shown above is displayed next to the toggle, and every change is recorded with a timestamp.
In all cases, consent is stored with a date/time stamp. No text messages are ever sent to a customer without a recorded consent on file.
3. Message Frequency & Rates
Message frequency varies based on your service schedule (typically 1–4 messages per service visit or billing event). Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan.
4. How to Opt Out
Reply STOP to any message to immediately stop receiving texts. You will receive a single confirmation of your opt-out and nothing further. An opt-out can only be reversed by you (for example, by replying START) — your Service Provider cannot re-enable texting on your behalf. You may also turn off text updates yourself in your customer portal under Settings → Text Messages, or ask your Service Provider to remove SMS consent from your account at any time.
5. Help
Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or reach us through our contact page.
6. Privacy
Mobile phone numbers and consent records are handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Use of the service is governed by our Terms of Service. We do not share, sell, or rent mobile numbers to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
